History:Jon was the only child of Adrian and Martha Brenau and led a fairly normal childhood in Albany, New York. As a preteen, he began to have a fascination with crime dramas, which eventually led him, after graduating college, to attend and graduate from the N.Y. Police Academy. Jon was good at his job and served exceptionally well for the next 10 years. However, a call went that went wrong ended with him badly injured and his partner and best friend killed. This affected him more than he expected and regular time off turned into an un-planned early retirement. Jon has several motivations for joining the Dollhouse as a Handler (although he shares a similiar moral distaste for it as Langston does): firstly, he still feels the need to be doing something and Dollhouse can utilize his skills. Secondly, he has decided that an Active isn't the same as a partner and so there is less emotional risk (whether or not he is correct waits to be seen).
Personality:Off duty, Jon is a fairly easy-going, laid back sort of guy who enjoys socializing although he's more comfortable being in the background of a group rather than the center of attention. He is always very polite ('gentlemanly' behavior having been drilled into him since childhood) and while his parents are religious, Jon is not particularily so. He does not get annoyed or frustrated easily, but if you know the right buttons to press, he can get quite angry. As a professional, Jon can be very dedicated and through with his work. In personal relationships, he does lean towards being a bit of a doormat, especially in romantic relationships. Jon is fairly reserved, but is in such a friendly way that people don't often notice for a good while that they know very little about him.
